Anyone know what this error means?  The game crashes in the exact same spot every time I get there.

Thats a scripting error. I think you look at something and the game crashes? Your player wants to look at a character which is not in the room. Please try to bring all the Characters in this room and try again.

Thanks.  I'm trying to speed run it... it always happens when I go into the attic to open the safe and get the quarter.  The other 2 kids are in the dungeon.   Any other work around you can think of?  Getting 2 kids in the attic at once would be tough, since someone has to get caught to get her out of her room.
