I want to translate 1 episode
Can you give me TXT?
And I also want to translate main sign at the start room (Episode 1, etc). In English version there's translation of it, you put picture to TRA file?
Best regards,
Sledgy

Russian version is completed
available in http://vk.com/adventuregamestudio (Russian AGS public)
or
MMM 01 RUS: http://www.mediafire.com/download/00f2uu82ikel9p3/MMM%2001%20RUS.rar

Hi Sledgy,
could you please upload this Russian version into a "rar"-file by Dropbox or Rapidshare?
I can't open rarz-files.
Greetings,
Rayman
-
see in prev msg :)
-
Hey cool. Now Episode 1 is also available in Russian. :D
But could you change the Verbs into Russian Verbs?
There are some in the Russian Version of Maniac Mansion Deluxe.
-
of course, esp if author helps me
-
I will help you. First: Here are the Verbs from Maniac Mansion Deluxe (Russian Version).
https://www.dropbox.com/s/e7jvfckjikyxey9/Unbenannt.png
Second: You must put the single verbs into the AGS sprite board and then keep the
sprite numbers of the single verbs in your mind.
After that: Change in the TXT-File the English sprite numbers with the actual numbers of the Russian verbs.

German:
Kann man von einer Episode mehrere Versionen hochladen, die unterschiedliche Übersetzungen haben?
Was haltet ihr davon?
English:
Could you upload of one episode many versions which contain different languages?
What do you think about?

German:
Das geht doch schon das eine Epi unterschiedliche Übersetzungen hat. Warum willst du denn für jede Übersetzung ein eigenes Spiel? Oder wie meinst du das?
English:
- Sorry, i don't speek english. Can someone else translate? -
Nevertheless, this already goes one Epi different translations has. Why do you want then for every translation own play? Or how do you mean this?

-
@Rayman
Ok, verstehe.
-
@Kiwa: So think I. I hope, that Sledgy has the option to keep the English and the Russian-Translationen in Episode 1.
@Sledgy: Could you also make episode 1 keep its English and Russian Translation?
-
You mean, 1ep with Ru+En? For what?
-
@Sledgy: Yes. That's right. Your version hasn't the English translation anymore :(
All languages (German (Default), English and Russian) may be included in episode 1,
the player can choose his own language in the menu and we needn't to
add two different download links under episode 1, because we only must change the "one download link"
to upload your version.
Is it possible, that your version keeps the English translation?
If not, so let us know, please.
Edit: I also noticed in the German translation of your version, that the German "Umlaute" (ä, ö, ü) are changed into cyrillic letters.
I don't know how to fix that.
-
I think, it's butthurt. You're creator of the episode?
-
I think, it's butthurt. You're creator of the episode?
No, I'm not the creator of this episode. The creator is LucasFan, but he never came back for 9 years.
I don't know if he still interested in Maniac Mansion Mania.
Does "butthurt" mean "very hard"?
I hope Rocco will read this post soon, because I want to know whats happen to doubled existing episodes
they have different translations each.
-
i'm reading this post now, but i have no idea honestly what we should do now.
I think it's not a good idea to have 2 different downloads for the first episode on the mainsite,
makes things more complicated and people who only understand russian wouldn't find it anyway.
-
I don't understand, how to mix Ru and En versions?
I put changed files to the game + there's Russian.tra
-
if the game itself stayed unchanged and Sledgy added only Russian.tra then there is no problem at all :cl
winsetup.exe searches for all *.tra and lists them as available translations
so all you have to do is take the current version of the game, add Russian.tra to the zip-file and upload it to the mmm-homepage
or did you use a resource editor to replace the English GUI images with Russian GUI Images? ???
-
yes that's the way we will handle it,
we add the russian.tra to the original game and thats it for the mmm page.
edit: its online now - http://www.maniac-mansion-mania.com/index.php/de/ :)
-
The idea to add the Russian.trans-File into the Episode 1-file folder was good,
but the original version 1.0 doesn't convert the cyrillic letters. :(
I put instead the English-trans-File into the folder of Sledgy's version, but
in the English translation are German sentences in the background now.
The German "Umlaute" are still cyrillic letters and the Sledgy's version has no Russian Verbs.

@Sledgy: How did you managed to change the English text objects into Russian objects?
Can you also change in the English Version the German objects into English objects (You can find the English objects in the version in the link which Rocco posted)?
The Russian Verbs are here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/e7jvfckjikyxey9/Unbenannt.png
-
Maybe just do separetely link to the site? Wirh Russian flag and sorta?
Mix Ru and En versions will be very hardly, 'cause I edited exe for normal work of translation
-
Hi boys! :D
Just for the sake of completeness and accuracy, and to avoid future misunderstandings.
The Russian translation of this episode has been implemented and made fully functional in the new multilanguage version of MMM-01, during the rebuilding of the source code and the implementation of the Italian translation.
